Springwood Rd Construction Plans Available
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is providing an online plan display of the Route 2002 (Springwood Rd) bridge replacement project. This project is located over Unnamed Tributary to Mill Creek in York Township, roughly 4 miles southeast of the City of York.
The purpose of this project is to address the deterioration of the existing bridge structure, which is currently in fair condition, and provide continued access on Route 2002, Section 022 over Unnamed Tributary to Mill Creek.
Proposed construction will consist of replacing the existing superstructure with a 16 ft. span precast concrete box culvert treated for protection of the structure. Existing guiderails will be replaced to bring up to current standards. The proposed bridge will carry two 11 ft. lanes, and a 4 ft. 4 in. minimum left and right shoulder.
A full detour will be used to maintain traffic flow. Access to all driveways within the project limits will be maintained during construction.
The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is expected to take place primarily within the 2024 construction season. The plans display will be held online only.
