Township Parks

As part of its recreation commitment to the members of the community, the York Township Recreation Department operates a number of recreational facilities in a series of municipal parks. These parks are open for public use during posted hours, and are a place for community residents to gather and enjoy a leisurely change of pace from everyday life.

York Township currently maintains five municipal parks: Fitz Park, Heritage Hills Park, Shryock Field, Snyder Park, and York Township Park. Two additional recreational facilities are being developed – Tyler Run Park and the newly planned centerpiece facility Markey Park. Driving Directions

Fitz Park - Traveling on Cape Horn Road towards Red Lion, turn right onto Sharon Avenue South across the road from Harding's Fruit Orchard. Go 150 yards straight into Fitz Park.

Heritage Hills Park - Traveling on Camp Betty Washington toward East York, turn right onto Chambers Road, then left onto Candlelight Drive. Take your first right hand turn onto Heritage Hills Drive. Travel 100 yards to Heritage Hills Park and the entrance will be to your right.

Shryock Field - Traveling on South Queen Street towards York, turn left onto the alley immediately after Hanna Dry Cleaners in Spry. Shryock Field is located behind the old Highway Garage.

Snyder Park – Traveling on South Queen Street towards York, turn left onto Chancellor Road across the street from the Fox-43 television station. Take your second right hand turn onto Beaumont Road. Go to the end of Beaumont Road and the entrance to Snyder Park will be on your left.

Tyler Run Park - Traveling on South Queen Street towards York, turn left on Tyler Run Road, and then left again onto Bayberry Lane. Travel about one quarter mile and the Tyler Run Park entrance will be directly ahead.

York Township Park - Traveling on South Queen Street towards York, turn right onto Oak Street at Campbell's Music Store in Spry, go 150 yards to the first stop sign, and go straight at sign into York Township Park.
