Sewer Administration And Billing

The Sewer Administration and Billing department is responsible for distribution, collection and maintenance of sewer accounts. Sewer tapping fees and licenses are also administered through this department.

 

On-Lot Sewer System Ordinance

On November 14th, 2000 York Township adopted an On-lot Sewerage System Ordinance establishing regulations for the inspection, maintenance, operation, rehabilitation, and administration of municipal management of individual and community on-lot sewage disposal systems in York Township. The On-lot Sewerage System Ordinance requires homeowners that have an on-lot sewerage system to have that system pumped and inspected at least every three years by an approved pumper / hauler. The pumper / hauler will complete their inspection forms and give two copies to the homeowner. The homeowner is required to return one copy of the inspection forms to the York Township Administration Office. Sewer Billing Information

Please contact an Accounting Clerk at the Township Administrative Office to establish new service. When opening an account please provide the street address of the location to be connected.

Sewer Fees:

Residential Customers: $100.00 per Quarter

Commercial Customers: $140.00 per quarter, unless over 27,275 gallons of water used; if so an additional charge of $5.13 per 1000 gallons over 27,275 will be added.

Sewer Enforcement Officer

The York Township Sewerage Enforcement Officer (SEO) is the primary resource for residents and businesses to receive information on compliance with Pennsylvania Act 537. The SEO inspects on-lot sewer systems to assure proper function. There are two SEOs that are subcontractors to York Township:

Inspection fees: Township Resolution 2005-1 establishes a fee structure for any inspections completed by the SEO - fees will vary upon work completed.
