York Township Director of Finance

Location: 190 Oak Road, Dallastown, PA 17313

York Township (26 square miles in size, population approx. 28,500), a first-class township located in southern Pa, is currently accepting applications and resumes to fill the position of Finance Director. York Township is a fast growing community located in the center of York and is part of the Dallastown Area School District.

The Finance Director’s responsibilities will focus primarily on the financial administration of the Township’s revenue funds totaling $22.9 million. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily supervision of department staff, budgets, employee payroll, utility billing, accounts receivable/payable, internal controls, state financial reporting, audit functions, monthly financial reports, bank reconciliations, insurance claims, investments, etc.  In addition, this position will be responsible for other routine duties and special projects as delegated by the Township Manager.

Previous experience in public accounting, PA municipal government fund accounting, PA state audit requirements, and GASB 34 is required.  Experience in Caselle Accounting Software would be considered favorable.

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years related management experience in finance and accounting involving fiscal and budgetary activities in a governmental operation or non-profit organization with supervisory duties; and knowledge of public finance and fiscal planning, organization and functions of municipal government, payroll and accounts payable functions, budgetary, accounting and reporting systems along with GASB knowledge, ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) and advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office.

This position is non-bargaining. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits package.
